The intention of this class is to help you get your scene work to the next level. It focuses on playing better with your partner, using emotion to unlock the scene, creating interesting environments, and making and sustaining multi dimensional characters. All good improv starts with good scene work. This class will help you find ways to make your scene work stronger.

ABOUT JIM CARLSON:
Jimmy is the former Head of Advanced Improvisation for The Second City Training Center as well as teaching improv at iO Chicago for 12 years. He worked as a resident director for the Second City for over ten years and was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson award (Chicago Tony) for best director in 2010. Jimmy was a member of the iO Chicago improv house team Valhalla, performed in the Armando Diaz Experience in Chicago and Los Angles and toured the country with in his two-man long-form show “Middle Age Comeback” including being a finalist in the Friar Festival at UCB New York. As an actor Jimmy has been on The Affair (Showtime), How to Get Away With Murder (ABC) and Criminal Minds (CBS) among others and recently played a recurring role in the Quibi show The Mapleworth Murders alongside Tina Fey, Jake McBrayer, Ike Barinholtz, John Lutz and Paula Pell. He performs regularly with “The Swamp” at OKCi).
